I am an engineer, NOT a doctor, but when I talked to Dr. Beatrice Golomb, she recommended these 5 tests:
1. Histamine - measure to confirm that a person has had an anaphylactic reaction or to help diagnose mastocytosis. Histamine is an important molecule in the body that helps with inflammation and gut mobility. Additionally, histamine is used as a neurotransmitter in parts of the nervous system. – HISTAMINE, Plasma 36586 Test Code or 83068 CPT Code - QUEST
2. 6 hydroxy melatonin sulfate- melatonin is the major indole compound synthesized by the pineal gland. it is converted from serotonin by hydroxy indole-o-methyl transferase. It is excreted into the urine as 6-sulfatoxymelatonin, n-acetyl serotonin, other glucuronide and sulfate forms. Melatonin is initially metabolized in the liver to 6-hydroxy-melatonin (aMT6S, M6S), then conjugated to sulphate and excreted into urine. The production and excretion of 6-sulfatoxy- melatonin follows an individual's circadian rhythm, like melatonin. 2 protein biomarkers indicating traumatic brain injury:
FDA approved two blood tests to be done as soon as possible or before 2 weeks are up, after the TBI assaults. It detects cerebral fluid in your blood steam after the brain assaults. They were working on a saliva test – I do not know if that has been perfected and approved yet.
Tests for two blood protein biomarkers for mild TBI, namely, glial protein glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and neuronal protein ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase L1 (UCH-L1).
