Numbers at the camp are growing, and our spirits remain high. The movement to stop the pipeline has received messages of solidarity from across the United States – Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hawaii, Texas, Miami, Oregon – and even from other countries! It’s amazing to hear all your voices, coming together to stop a pipeline that will affect all of us, even if you don’t live along its path.
This week our brothers and sisters from the Lummi Nation arrived with the totem pole they have been carrying to raise awareness of the fossil fuel industry’s negative environmental effects. They join about 90 other nations who have arrived at the camp, and we were honored to be included in their journey.
As a last note, we wanted to share a beautiful video that was made by the Indigenous Environmental Network featuring young voices from the camp. In it, youth address President Obama, asking if he can hear our call to stop this dangerous pipeline. You can watch it here: http://bit.ly/2bFMcKQ
