Greetings Fellow British Columbians! Thank you for your continued support in getting this very important message out there! BC is the only province in Canada to charge an arbitrary regressive tax disguised as MSP Premiums. Contrary to popular belief MSP premiums do NOT go exclusively to health care but instead go into general coffers. It is time for BC to join the rest of the country and be the province everybody thinks it is! Here are a few facts about the MSP Premiums: • MSP Premiums have doubled over the past 15 years •Everyone pays the same premiums, whether you make $30,000 or $3,000,000. • MSP Premiums favour the wealthy over low-income British Columbians and those on fixed -incomes. It is time for B.C. to replace MSP premiums with a more progressive and equitable approach to funding our health-care system. Overhauling our current, regressive approach would be a positive step in addressing poverty and income inequality, and ensuring a sustainable health-care system for now and future generations.
