Reverse the decision to close The Swaminarayan School, Neasden (The only one in Europe)

The Swaminarayan School has been open since 1992 in Brentfield Road, in the shadow of Neasden Temple, officially known as BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. The Swaminarayan School caters for about 400 students at this current time between the ages of three and eighteen.
The school’s Trustees and Governors are trying to close the school.
On the 25th June 2018 the parents, teachers and staff were informed, without prior consultation with parents and the community, that the school would be closing permanently in two phases, in 2019 for Primary and 2020 for Secondary, giving just 1 year and 2 year notices respectively.
In a letter to parents, a spokesman for the school blamed “increasing regulatory requirements, difficulties in recruitment and retention of teachers, ready availability of free state-funded Hindu schools, and declining pupil numbers” for the move.
This is simply not true, sensitivity analysis of accounts by experts suggests that with restructuring it is possible for school to run for the foreseeable future.
This has caused a great deal of alarm and distress for the children and even more so for the pupils taking exams.
There are many hard working families who have moved, relocated and changed their way of life to enable their children to get an excellent education, ethos and culture of Hinduism.
Some children are travelling over an hour each way on a daily basis to attend this school of excellence.
In response, parents have had no choice but to form a campaign group to try and reverse this shocking decision.
Parents are actively looking at ways to keep the school as a going concern for generations to come and keep the legacy of HH Shri Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
Parents are working closely with Management and have offered full support and engagement to resolve this issue in a timely and positive manner.
We are pleased to say that the response so far is extremely positive from parents and the extended community as a whole and we expect decision makers also to match the same enthusiasm.
We need your support to challenge the decision to close the school.
