Wow, what an update here.. Although Skateboarding is officially banned in downtown Alpharetta to a 3-4 vote as of June 15th, we're optimistic in seeing some positive solutions in the near future! Over the past month, this petition has gained some serious traction and we still believe it to be the obvious answer.

With much respect due to Dan Merkel (Alpharetta Councilman) Morgan Rodgers (Director of Parks) and several other Alpharetta officials along with three local skateboarders attending the council meetings, there is a temporary solution in contributing to a "pop up" skate park which will take place at an unused hockey rink at Union Hill park.

We think this is a great start! However, we believe it only to be a temporary solution. As not only is the location still of distance from downtown Alpharetta, we believe inexpensive obstacles will not sustain the enthusiasm of skateboarders. We believe a permanent skate park at Wills Park would not only be within distance but would keep skateboarders satisfied long term along with Alpharetta residents.

As the "pop up" skate park should be ready mid July, we are still excited to have a dedicated space for skaters. This space gives skateboarders the opportunity to prove that there is a demand for a skate park. We will continue to do updates as the progress moves forward..

Huge shout out to all the supporters and everybody who has signed. YOU are making the difference. Beyond thankful for the continued support!
