My boyfriend and I have a pitbull. She is a well-mannered and friendly dog that we see as a family member. My boyfriend hasn't moved in with me but they were visiting. My landlord stopped in and saw the dog and told me I'm not allowed to have her here and that she can't come back or I have to leave. I thought that there weren't breed restrictions. I was wrong. Anyways, this hurt a bit. If my boyfriend and I were living together they would expect us to get rid of our dog. Now I'm looking for a place to rent without breed restrictions and it's difficult! Many allow all dogs except pitbulls. This is a dog that has been stereotyped and discriminated against because of her genetics. That's not fair to her or us.
