I began this petition on the 26th January 2021, a year ago today.
It was born from utter devastation as well as desperation to do something positive for Jess.
12 months later, with thanks to you all, we have raised awareness.
We still push for change.
This petition is now addressed to Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
The Health Minister is fully cognizant of Jess' story. We now wait while he 'considers' our calls for change.
The actions we have called for in Jess' name are:
Jess’ Law - after 3rd contact with GP surgery about a symptom/condition, a case should be elevated for review. After 5, it should be red-flagged and a further, urgent review process followed.
Named GP in practice, not just in principle
Designated cancer specialist in each GP surgery
Continuous GP training which is mandatory not ‘encouraged’
An awareness campaign focussing upon cancer in young adults.
Ring-fenced funding providing essential diagnostic testing for all.
Face to face appointments.
Thank you so much for your continued support, you are essential in achieving these goals.
