On Friday, 19th November, this petition will be debated in parliament. We have requested for there to be a specific focus upon facilitating improved early cancer diagnosis, at stages 1 and 2, within GP practices. This can only be achieved through additional ring-fenced funding, training and a designated cancer specialist in each surgery. There is much talk about investment in Rapid Diagnostic Centres, which we applaud, however GP's must be able to recognise symptoms in ALL demographic groups and have the financial support to refer them. We also need to know that everyone will have easy access to such facilities in the near future.
