Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to update you about Alice and how it went yesterday.
Alice received her first round of treatment yesterday and it all went well and she is now back home resting and wrapping Christmas presents, she is feeling very positive about the treatment and all our thoughts and prayers are with her.
I am really happy to let you all know that we have raised over £10,000 so far for the charity that has given Alice this amazing chance at life, something that she just didn't have until they stepped in.
Please please donate if you can, every little bit counts towards the cause, and to them helping someone else in Alice's position. You can go to www.donate4alice.com and it will take you to the donation page. If you would prefer to donate by cheque, please message me personally and I will give you the details.
The thing is, we don't want anyone else to be in this position ever again, the NHS should be trusting their Doctors and what they want to do for their patients, it became apparent in the appeal that the drug was declined to Alice because they could not produce evidence that the research and knowledge gained from using this drug for the first time on Alice's cancer would help a certain number of people affected by this cancer in the coming months, which for this rare cancer and other rare cancers would always be impossible as they are rare. This procedure completely eliminates rare cancers from using trial drugs and therefore we are missing opportunities to aid the research into cures for these rare cancers.
This has got to stop, which is why I am asking you to continue to share this petition, as the more signatures we get, the more likely it is that we can take this to parliament and really get down to the problem of using new drugs on rare cancers.
We all thank you so much for all the support you have given Alice and our family, you have all been amazing and not a day has gone by when we haven't received more signatures and lovely messages for Alice.
Alice is still in shock over how many people have got behind her in this fight and helped with finding her a way to get the treatment that she now receives in the hope that it will save her life, you have all given her a chance that was all but gone when we started this petition.
Please keep sharing, keep our voices loud so we can be heard!
Thank you all, and please donate if you can.
