Members and supporters of the Labour Party want a fair, open and transparent process to choose the next General Secretary of the party. 

Some media reports have suggested that efforts have been made to cut short or close down this vital process, or to "stitch it up" to ensure that only one candidate can win. This petition is addressed to the NEC Officers group, so that they can lay these hopefully unwarranted fears to rest.

The solution is simple: provided there are enough qualified candidates, we call on NEC Officers to put through a broad shortlist of several people - and to organise one or more live-streamed "hustings" debates among them, so that members, elected representatives and unionists can also hear their ideas and understand the process better. #ForTheMany, Not The Few!
