This petition is about the Fulham boys school which quotes "no braids and no dreadlocks" my son chikayzea was picked up on the first day of school by his head of house and I received a phone call regarding his house telling me that he has to cut it by Monday. Him being so young and just starting year 7 was very scared by the situation thinking that they was going to kick him out of school because he had dreadlocks. The following day he was taken out of his lessons and put into isolation, my family has this hair as it is our religion and I feel like this is very unfair because I cannot just changed my beliefs to suit the school. This had made me feel very distraught. This is our children's education and I don't think that anyone should prevent a child from learning because of the way they look or hairstyles a child has. As it is our culture and our religion I feel insulted that the school is asking my child to cut his hair to suit their needs I strongly believe that all schools should be made to change their policy as it is discrimination and an injustice and focus on the children's education as ultimately that is the most important thing and not how a child's hair is.
