The shooting on Valentines Day of last year at Marjory Stoneman Douglas claimed the lives of 17 students and staff. This tragedy caused the survivors to rise up and fight for change. Their bravery during such a hard time inspired me to also fight for change. No child should fear while trying to get an education. The US should place more restrictions on who can get a gun, ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and enforce the necessary punishment for gun violence.
