My patients all have been informed of the news: After January 1, 2019, if BILL # 1998 passes, they will need to be OFF all opioids. To become law in California, a new Bill must pass the Assembly, then pass the Senate, and then be signed by the Governor. ABSENT A LANDSLIDE OF OBJECTION, the bill is likely to pass. Most of my patients have been tapered to within the CDC Opioid Guidelines. Now they will need to be tapered completely off, by January 1st. Its not up to me; its up to you, the pain patients.
