The CDC came out with Opioid Prescribing Guidelines and these were explicitly stated to be "advisory only'. However these guidelines are now being applied everywhere as if they were binding. Medicare is currently drafting new limits that would restrict ALL Medicare beneficiaries from receiving more than 90 Morphine Equivalents per day. Not because it saves lives. Not because it will solve the opioid crisis. It is purely because it will save Medicare money. Pain medications are now viewed as a luxury. PAINED LIVES MATTER. Pain Patients Speak Up Now Or else...
