We, the undersigned, are respectfully petitioning Mr. Jeffrey Goh (CEO, Star Alliance) to revoke the membership status of Ethiopian Airlines from the Star Alliance for reasons of racial profiling and discriminating its employees of Amhara ethnicity. The following Amhara pilots - Captain Hailemedhin Abera, Captain Yohannes Tesfaye, Captain Masresha Sete, Captain Alemu Getnet, Captain Tadesse Muluneh, Captain Abraham Tibebu, Technician Samuel Kinde, Captain Habtamu Maren, Captain Getahun Wale are few examples of Ethiopian Airlines pilots and technicians who:

• complain of ethnic-based discrimination attacking their Amhara ethnicity
• were wrongfully terminated from their job at Ethiopian Airlines because of their ethnic background of being Amhara
• quit their job because of traumatization from ethnic discrimination, harassment, and hostile work environment all directed because of their Amhara ethnicity   

We are here attaching recent interview from the Amhara Mass Media Agency aired on October 10, 2018 of a testimony from an ex-pilot who quit his job because he was repeatedly harassed for being Amhara.

For these reasons, we are respectfully petitioning your organization to revoke Star Alliance membership of Ethiopian Airlines. We hold the Star Alliance in high esteem, and we do not believe that the Ethiopian Airlines merits membership because of the many testimonies of ethnic-based discrimination and harassment of its Amhara employees.
