Thank you everyone for signing. We're currently at almost 700 signatures and counting! Airport officials claim that only 50 people show up at most to any of their meetings, so that should mean that the communities' interests have been adequately represented. The traffic on this petition shows otherwise.

At Monday's Community Noise Roundtable Meeting (available here), it was claimed that:

• There is no need for an update to the master plan;
• This was the chance (and only chance) for the representatives to comment on the plan, which has not yet been released;
• There was no need for community members to be represented on the roundtable;
• Aviation technology is rapidly changing. Electric planes and unleaded fuel offer the community opportunity for economic growth and promising alternatives for relief from the noise and pollution we have in our skies.

All previous updates to the Master Plan by Jefferson County (every 10 years on average) have occurred due to changes in growth in the region and change in airport operations. What is different this time? The massive increase in flight traffic, including GA planes dumping leaded exhaust over our communities, is a change. Don't let them say otherwise.
