They are killing trees and giving people serious reactions.

They would use Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki to perform the aerial spray.

Is it harmful to humans?

Bt is a bacterium that is not toxic to humans or other mammals but is toxic to certain insects when ingested. ... Over two decades of review, the EPA and numerous scientific bodies have consistently found that Bt and engineered Bt-crops are not harmful to humans.

Btk works only against a group of insects called lepidopterans, which includes such destructive tree pests such as gypsy moths, spruce budworms and forest tent caterpillars.

Bt strains have been used by both organic and non-organic farmers throughout the world for many years. Btk is one of the few pesticides acceptable to organic growers, as it is a naturally occurring biological organism, rather than a synthetic chemical.

I would never advocate for something that could be extremely harmful to the environment, humans or other animals, birds etc.

The problem is, that we are all going to lose our trees with this issue as it is.

All I ask is that you understand and be kind to one another.
