On June 22nd my then 14 year old son, Jedediah Nash, returned after having "run away" for a few days. Being considerate so the officials would not look for him, I took him to the Cherryvale KS police department to report he had returned. At that point the police personnel harassed me with insults and false accusations and said they wanted to talk to my son privately.  2.5 hours later, with no warrant and no court order they informed me that I was "toxic to [my] son" and that he was not going home with me. Without my permission and no warrant they drug screened my son. They insisted on drug screening me, threatening that if I refused, they would mark all the categories as positive. Due to my allergy sinus medication I tested with a false positive. My son tested positive for marijuana, legal in many states. My son has been in the nightmare of the foster "care" system since that night.
My attempts to see him for weekly visits are regularly thwarted. My profession as an independent businesswoman who paints homes and hangs wallpaper means I don't babysit my phone, thus making it impossible to arrive for random drug screens within the 40 minutes they give me. Mind you, they text me these notices. When I offer to come on my lunch break they reply "I guess you don't get to see your son this week."
They have blocked him from me and from my friends and family. He is not allowed to talk to his grandparents. One friend was permitted to see him for a 10 minute visit only after she passed a background check and had to pee in a cup in front of a KVC worker to pass a drug screen. She is not permitted to see him again because she is "not kin."
Did you know that for each child kidnapped by the state the feds pay the state $6000-$8000?  If they are 15 or older and adopted out, the state gets a $10,000 bonus. Foster "parents," albeit some are decent people, get paid $1600/mo per kid.
Jedediah Nash, now in foster care, has run away from foster care, has been smoking dope in foster care, and has been charged with burglary while in foster care. Clearly the foster care environment is not a healthy one for my son. I love him and miss him terribly. Please help me get him home. What these people are doing is evil!! They even sent me a bill for child support!!!
