The lawyers of 130th President of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, appealed at the United Nations Human Rights Committee in early March 2018 for protection of his political rights. They argued that Spain had seriously violated and is still violating its client's human rights. The United Nations Human Rights Committee adopted this complaint on 26 March 2018.
