Let's ban mercury dental fillings

Let's ban mercury dental fillings

It was worthy to mobilize people against mercury in dental fillings! The European Parliament voted on 13rd October to ban this dangerous substance before 31st December 2022. We won the first battle but our combat for mercury-free dentistry is not over yet.
The European Parliament is about to start negotiating with the EU Commission and Council (represented by Member States’ governments) under the so-called “trilogues”.
Mercury is considered by WHO as one of the top ten chemicals of major public health concern.
The dentistry sector accounts for 24% of the total mercury use in the European Union, that is equivalent to 75 tonnes a year. Time has now come to get rid of this dangerous substance.
If you sign this petition, we will keep you updated on the ongoing negotiations allowing you to, legitimately, keep up public pressure over the Commission and the Council should the two institutions be tempted to undermine what the European Parliament voted in October.
We count on you! We count on your mobilization!
