Puyallup Water Warriors & Redefine Tacoma
Jun 24, 2018
Sightline Institute researcher and environmental law expert Tarika Powell testifies that the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) produced by the City of Tacoma for the Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project is false and misleading and "the most incompetent" she has ever seen. The worst areas of deficiency in the EIS are greenhouse gases, health & safety, and hazardous materials. Puget Sound Clean Air Agency is requiring an Supplement EIS to examine the impacts of greenhouse gases associated with the project from the fracking wells to final burning of LNG. We need a thorough review of the dangers and hazards associated with PSE's proposed LNG facility, including the Blast Zone. As Lead Agency, it is the responsibility of the City of Tacoma to initiate and oversee a Supplemental EIS (SEIS) to provide adequate review of the serious safety hazards posed by this unnecessary facility. But they have not yet done so, despite repeated requests. Please Sign & Share this Petition to Demand an SEIS for PSE's proposed LNG facility! https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/tacoma-lng-seis Check out more information on LNG from Sightline: https://bit.ly/2tycsMk Together we can stop this dangerous project. YEHOW!
