Puyallup Water Warriors & Redefine Tacoma
Feb 20, 2018
Thank you for all your calls and emails to Seattle’s City Council last month. It's time for another round! Last month Council Member Kshama Sawant introduced a NoLNG Resolution. Instead of voting on it directly, it was sent to a committee that Council Member Debora Juarez chairs. Juarez committed to “strengthening” the Resolution. We know PSE LNG is bad for the climate, is in violation of Puyallup treaty rights, and poses a danger to the community's health and safety. Seattle City Council is under pressure to pass a weaker version of the Resolution. Please write the Committee TODAY to support the original Resolution: 1. Oppose PSE’s LNG, don’t merely address or consider it. 2. Don’t subtract from CM Sawant’s original resolution, add to it to make it stronger. 3. TOTE has other options to meet air quality emission requirements. 4. Urge the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA) to reject PSE’s application for a permit for the proposed LNG facility and request 5. Mayor Jenny Durkan seek every legal opportunity to use the influence of the Mayor’s position on the PSCAA Board of Directors to advocate for that permit to be rejected. URGENT!! Please Email and Call the Committee Members Today: council@seattle.gov Debora Juarez (206)684-8805 Lorena Gonzalez (206)684-8802 Sally Bagshaw (206)684-8801 Kshama Sawant (206)684-8016 Attend the Seattle City Council Committee Meeting at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 21st at Seattle City Hall (400 6th Ave).
