Puyallup Water Warriors & Redefine Tacoma
Dec 17, 2017
It was a huge week for Water Protectors on the ground and in the courtroom in Tacoma. As PSE continues to build without permits Water Protectors are putting their bodies on the line to stop construction on the massive 8 million-gallon fracked gas LNG tank. Tomorrow morning, thousands of Water Protectors from all over the northwest will gather for a peaceful action at the gates of Puget Sound Energy’s fracked gas construction site. We are calling on Governor Inslee, the State Attorney General, and all permitting agencies to honor the Puyallup Tribe’s Stop Work request and intervene on the project’s permit and treaty violations. Can you come stand with us? Can you come and pray with us? It’s all about prayer, it’s all about the water. Click on the Facebook event page to learn how to join and support tomorrow’s huge Block the Gates Action at the construction site. https://www.facebook.com/events/766578836862331/ Super 6 Grandmothers Acquitted on all Counts Marilyn Kimmerling and Cynthia Linet, the final 2 of the Super 6, were found NOT GUILTY of charges from when they tied down to an auger at LNG site last May! Puyallup Elder, Ramona Bennett, testified on the fact that the “land” where the PSE LNG facility is being built is actually aquatic tidelands estuary and part of the Puyallup Tribe’s usual and accustomed fishing and hunting grounds, protected under Treaty. Since the Treaty, others have filled the tidelands to create “land” where the PSE LNG facility is now being constructed. The jury acquitted the two grandmothers water protectors of all charges.
