Hello and thank you once again for supporting the petition to get Jasmin Paris on the shortlist for Sports Personality of the Year.

We are nearing 15000 signatures and last week the BBC made a public acknowledgement of Jasmin's incredible achievement by inviting her to start the women's race at the London Marathon.

Thanks also to Damian Hall for sharing the petition on his socials last week. If you are able to do the same this week then we can get over 15000 signatories and push on to 20000. I'm fully aware that it's still many months before the SPOTY awards, but now we know the BBC understand how incredible Jasmin's achievement was, we need to double down on the message that this needs wider acknowledgement and greater publicity. Because, remember, this is not just about Jasmin, but about all women in sport, young and old who could achieve great things given the inspiration and the confidence to do so.

In fact, it's not just about women in sport. It's about anyone, in any sphere of life. If you lack the confidence, if you think you're not good enough, fast enough, strong enough, intelligent enough or important enough, think again. You are so much more than you might believe. You are capable of great things no matter who you are or where you come from. 

So please share this petition with anyone and everyone and get them to vote so we can inspire another generation of women, men, boys and girls to be better than they ever thought possible.
