To honour all the First Peoples who fought under the command of these great men alongside the British to stop the American invaders during the War of 1812. It would commemorate an important historical event in the days before Canada was born that were vital to its formation, solidify recognition of the role played by the First Peoples who sacrificed their lives to help make it happen, and to demonstrate the inclusion of all First Peoples as Canadians today.
