Cars being used as weapons

It has taken me awhile to be able to put together the words. My heart sank reading the headlines, It is no secret with the news over the past week local Australian MP Helen Haines has become victim to a horrific attack, an attack on a woman where a car has been so evidently used as a weapon. My heart is with Helen’s friends and family during this tragic time and I wish her all the best with her recovery. At this time Haines’s attacker has not received an attempted murder charge, only fronting the court on dangerous driving. Once again a perpetrator has used their motor vehicle to cause great harm, this is not the first attack where a car has been used as a weapon and if the justice system does not act quickly it will not be the last. 

Nine of the 56 Australian women killed this year were lost to violent acts where vehicles were the weapon, Australian Femicide Watch researcher says.
