Petition updateWe petition the leadership to act on our behalf...Blue Day C1/J00 Travel Passes (for select employees)
ACEB Group (AC Employee Beneficiaries; Active, Retired & Dependent)
26 Aug 2015
August 19, 2015 As you have all heard by now C1/J10 were awarded to reservations agents. Unfortunately for us three quarters of the membership were left out at Airports, CJM and CRR. Contrary to public opinion we did not negotiate this or were we forewarned. Had we been forewarned we would have had an opportunity to correct the imbalance. We cannot condone one quarter of the membership getting a privilege and not the rest. Our membership are up in arms and this is an understandable reaction. However the anger against Unifor is misplaced. We did not do this. The Bargaining Committee intends to pursue C1/J10's for all of our members. We know that passes are contentious and any slight or imbalance is unfair. If members want to express their dismay at the shoddy treatment I suggest the following. Send a simple email. Mark.Southern@aircanada.ca Subject - Why don't you respect my contribution? In the body of the email briefly- My contribution to the success of this airline should not be undervalued. An inequity has been created and I expect that Airport, CJM and CRR agents be awarded the same privilege as the Call Centre Agents - C1/J10. I am thanking you in advance for helping to get the message out and turning the anger, angst and upset towards the company where it belongs. Bargaining Chairperson Frances Galambosy ................................................... Solidairement, Benoit Président section local 2002 _________________________________________________________________________________________ Hi everyone You might have already heard about the latest Call center management team's decision to reward its employees for all the great efforts they provided during the past few months and the current year. For the first time in years, the waiting time on the phone has been reduced considerably. The Company has decided to grant C1 travel passes to all RES employees across the country. I would like to point out that the company never consulted the union before going ahead with this measure. We can only congratulate the Res Management Team for recognizing the amazing work that our members perform every day in order to provide an excellent service to all Air Canada customers. We have immediately sent a letter to all the other departments management teams ( CJM, Customer Solutions, airports, etc.) across the country asking that everyone of them get the same recognition. It is clear that all our members deserve it as we are going through one of the busiest and most profitable period of Air Canada's recent history. It would be unacceptable for us that the company wouldn't grant the same privileges to us all. Last we heard, we are all part of the same company! In solidarity, Benoit Président section local unifor2002
