On January 16, 2019, in voluntary global settlement negotiations led by labour arbitrator Willian Kaplan, the matters in dispute between the University of Ottawa and professor Denis Rancourt were amicably resolved. Denis says he is very happy with this and pleased to move on with his continued civil liberties advocacy and social theory research, plus some environmental research.
