Enough is Enough! Hold Lisa King responsible! Rules DO Apply!
The Issue
Lisa King has selfishly turned the spotlight on herself, putting herself before anything else. Her stunt has put our leaders, neighbors and peers in ackwardly time consuming positions in hopes to save her seat on the planning commission. King publicly defied our Mayor and his prerogative to better our City, she has made threats against local hard working small business owners, she has lied about her past, spread false rumors and attacked the new planning commission candidates, wasted the City's and its leaders precious time with her stunt the other night and over the last month, but worst of all, she has taken the focus off of our City and what is really important and made it all about Lisa King and her wants and needs!
If she wanted the privilege of making these type of decisions she should have ran for Mayor. There is a reason she lost so badly at her run for District 2 City Council. Let's take a second and remember that this whole pathetic play is over the exact seat King was going to abandon so quickly if she would have won.
The real question and concern is WHY?
Lisa King thinks she is above the law and that she doesn't fall under the same rules as everyone else. If she will blatantly publicly ignore the wishes of our Mayor for her own selfish needs, what else will she be willing to do? What's next? King has used her husband and the union, she has threatened decent hard working small business owners, people don't matter to King as long as she gets what she wants.
Mayor Curry's vision is obvious! Think about it, the planning commission is about making sure everyone is following the law. Making people responsible for their actions. Planning Commissioners are there to enforce the existing rules in place and to never allow personal opinions to cloud their judgment. Do you really think King is the best person for that position?
I know she's not!
She already used her position to cause extreme hardship on local businesses during her campaign, what else will she do before she's out? Enough is Enough! We teach our children to not be a bully and treat others with respect, don't you think someone representing our City should have to follow the same rules?
