TELL Reed and Whitehouse to END our Support of the Saudis!!!

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

Tuesday, the Senate is expected to take up this issue with a vote on S.J. Res 54, a bipartisan War Powers Resolution sponsored by Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Mike Lee (R-UT) and Chris Murphy (D-CT). Yemen is on the brink of what the UN has called potentially the worst humanitarian disaster in 100 years, with over 50,000 killed, young children starving to death and 14 million people at risk of famine.

However, the murder and dismemberment of journalist Jamal Khashoggi has made clear the risk that the unchecked power Trump and the Saudi Arabia regime have is creating a much more dangerous and deadly world. This, combined with activist and citizen pressure, is working and momentum is building toward ending this calamity. The U.S. recently announced a halt to refueling Saudi jets. Support from the U.S., Saudis, Emiratis, and the Houthis for re-starting peace talks has grown to the point that the United Nations has announced plans to convene them soon. The Senate now needs to get on board with ending this war and the U.S. role in it, and to do that they’ll need to hear from us. Please sign this petition to tell Senators Reed and Whitehouse to support the Sanders - Lee - Murphy legislation calling for "the removal of United States armed forces from hostilities in the Republic of Yemen that have not been authorized by Congress"!
