Hello everyone! Thank you so much for signing this petition. As a rape survivor who deals with ongoing threats, name calling, and bullying on social media, your support means a lot! The battle is far from over. Getting Twitter to pay attention and take action is going to be difficult, but I believe when you fight for what is right – you can’t lose. I would like to show Twitter the extent of the problem by giving them real world examples of rape threats being shared on their platform. If you have received a rape threat, could you please email me a screenshot of the threat and a comment explaining why it’s important to you that these accounts are shut down? Also, please feel free to share your story regarding the threats you have received. Please email your comments and screenshots to StopRapeThreats@gmail.com. I personally have received threats because I speak out against sexual violence in athletics. I’m not sure why having an opinion about football warrants a rape threat, but this is the world we are living in and this is the behavior Twitter is condoning. Thank you in advance for your support!
