Yesterday the new element names were announced. They will go out for consultation now, but assuming no major objections*, they will be approved. Sadly, octarine didn't didn't quite make the cut. Boo. But, on the other hand, element 118 is going to be named oganesson, with the symbol Og. I'm sure they meant 'Ogg and Son'. Spelling has never been a strong point on the Disc after all. Nanny will be pleased ;-) *Something more substantial than, "but we wanted this OTHER name", unfortunately.
