Aruba has been long known as the ‘One Happy Island’. But there is a Crisis going on that threatens the very existence of our island. Climate Change is happening now and we can not turn a blind eye anymore. Even on a small island like our ‘Dushi Tera’, we have started to see and feel the effects. Our flora and fauna is under heavy pressure due to a lack of protection and enforcement of existing laws, our waste management is non-existent, valuable resources are lost to the landfills, the lack of efficient public transportation causes a rise in vehicles increasing greenhouse gas emissions, and so on. 

We urge this new government to step-up in the fight against Climate Change and make sure Aruba's nature and its people are better protected for the future. 

We need to treat the Climate Crisis as a Crisis Emergency. It is (y)our responsibility and moral obligation to take action. We are running out of time, we no longer can accept empty long-term promises. Our government has the ability to help stop this from happening, and we’re urging the people to take a stand with us. Our future generations depend on the decisions we make today. You can help make that difference by signing and letting Aruba’s government know that you care.

Aruba semper a wordo conoci como nos  “One Happy Island”. Pero tin un Crisis andando cu ta amenaza e existencia di nos isla. Cambio Climatico ta aki y nos no por ignora e situacion mas. Hasta riba un isla chikito manera nos “Dushi Tera”, nos a cuminsa wak y sinti e efectonan. Nos flora y fauna ta riba un preshon pisa debido na e falta di proteccion y enforce di leynan existente, nos maneho di desperdicio ta inexistente, recursonan valioso ta wordo perdi na dump, e falta di transporte publico eficiente ta causa un aumento di vehiculonan cu ta incrementa e emision di gas cu efecto invernadero (greenhouse gasses) , etcetera. 

Nos ta urgi e gobierno nobo pa lanta para y uni den e lucha contra Cambio Climatico y sigura cu e futuro di Aruba su naturalesa y su pueblo ta miho protehi.

Nos mester trata e Crisis Climatico manera un crisis di emergencia. E ta nos responsabilidad y obligacion moral pa tuma accion. Nos tempo ta cabando, nos no por acepta promesanan bashi mas. Nos gobierno tin e capacidad di juda y stop esaki, y nos ta urgi tur hende pa lanta para cu nos. Nos futuro generacion ta depende riba e decisionnan cu tuma luga awo. Bo por juda hasi un diferencia door di firma e peticion aki pa laga Aruba su gobierno sa cu bo tambe ta precupa.
