Project Update as of 5/7/24
Thank you all for signing the petition!
We are still fighting to oppose this project and still need to get the word out. Any donation you can make will help us accomplish this.
Public meetings continue with Town Planning Board and the Conservation Commission. This project will impact the entire town in terms of potential contamination of our public drinking water, traffic congestion, diesel emissions, air pollution, sound pollution and environmental impacts to our wetlands and wildlife and public health.
As per the requirements, the Developer filed a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MEPA). The public can review the documents and comment through 5/10/24. After this time, MEPA will give a confirmation of review by 5/17/24 and provide comments. Additional information can be found in the text on the “Go Fund Me Page”.
At the last Conservation Commission Meeting held on 4/16/24, the Commissioners asked the Developer to take a relook at their design because their plans were to place a structure within the 30-foot buffer zone near the Wetlands. That is not allowed according to our Town Bylaw. This week we learned that the Developer is shrinking one of the warehouses by 30,000 sq ft. to abide by the Bylaw. We don’t consider this a victory. Although, one warehouse would be a smaller build, we oppose this project for all the other public health and environmental reasons.
We are getting the word out through speaking at meetings, writing letters to the Boards, Letters to the Editors, State Representatives, etc. We need your support so we can continue to reach all the residents of the wider town so they understand the impacts this project could bring – to all of us.
