In today's politicized environment, it's controversial to critique any State's COVID policies. With that in mind, this is a note in response to critical commentary we've received on Facebook:

  • This petition exclusively calls for updates to the State's testing and quarantine guidelines. New Jersey must update the guidelines to be equitable for young children by aligning childcare center policies with the current K-12 guidelines, which apply to both vaccinated or unvaccinated children.
  • This petition does not take a position on, or request changes to, vaccine mandates or masking rules.

As discussed in an in-depth story in The Atlantic this week, the vaccine (if trials are successful) for under-5-year-olds would be a three-dose regime that will hopefully be submitted for approval in the Spring. Given the time for FDA approvals, roll-out, and three coursed doses -- this timeline optimistically brings us to late summer for a young child to be fully vaccinated. Will we wait that long to change the policies while the rest of the country moves on? NO.

Thank you for support! Let's help build a movement.
