We have great news to share! Since you signed our petition to end the Council Tax Trap, the Welsh government has made some very welcome changes to council tax collection which will give people more time and less stress to deal with payments.

Currently, if you miss a council tax payment, within just three weeks your council can demand you pay your full annual bill. But the Welsh government is extending that period to nearly two months - allowing people more time and space to get help with their finances.

That's not perfect - we'd like this period to be three months - but it's a big step forward. We've been campaigning hard to change this awful system and we're delighted the Welsh government has listened!
