Hello everyone,
Your support thus far has been incredible & helped to move the needle with some very stubborn people in the government! You voices are being heard & the ball is rolling! Although this is a battle of attrition & still will take time -- I wanted to update you all on a few positive updates!

There was also an extremely brief news story on TV that aired on June 16th Sunday night at 11:30pm which is thankfully the absolute prime time for television viewership. We take the wins where we can get them though! This article tagged above is much more thorough & representative of the interview that happened on site of the proposed park location!
Secondly & much more importantly - the Parks Department now has directly stated their desire for this to be designated as a park! This is alongside the James River Park System & the Friends of the James Park which operate & maintain most of Richmond's parks! Their support was crucial & as of last week it has been confirmed!
As the fight continues, your help continues to be crucial! Please continue to share the petition & message your councilperson! Before you know it - this place will become a reality! Thank you all so much again & I can't wait to see you at the park!
