Check out the Government Architect NSW's draft Greener Places policy. "This is a draft policy to guide the design, planning, design and delivery of Green Infrastructure in urban areas across NSW. Green Infrastructure is the network of green spaces, natural systems and semi-natural systems including parks, rivers, bushland and private gardens that are strategically planned, designed and managed to support good quality of life in the urban environment." Please check out the link and comment on the draft policy. And why not make a sneaky comment about the need for all LGA's to develop plans in line with these strategies - eg. their own Greener Places or Urban Forest plans, (I quite like "Greener Places" myself...has s nice ring to it!)
