Barbers/Cosmos and Barber/Cosmo Schools are taking a hit with people obtaining illegal yet "legit" licenses with not having done one hour of training. Licensed barbers and cosmetologist are losing money as well as schools, not to mention the integrity of our trade is in jeopardy. This issue has reached the legislator and other government officials and it is going to take the barber community to get involved, it needs to be known that all the trained professionals are fed up with this kind of problem lingering for so long with nothing being done, so signatures are needed! I do want to make this clear if this petition is not successful I will continue my efforts to make a change in the state of Texas having to do with this problem... AND THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM! As a licensed barber and educator for over fifteen years I know the struggles that some students have to go through while going to college, some people sacrifice more than others and as a veteran in the barber industry I hate to see these young students experience such a negative trend. Losing money is one thing but having learned about sanitation, barber laws and the history of barbering is something I take a lot of pride in. And I want to educate people taking advantage of the system to think about the disadvantages of their actions and how it is hurting people in the industry.
