Bengaluru the "Garden city" of India hosts more than 1000 IT companies in its soil, no wonder it is also called India's "Silicon City". With more than 1000 IT companies in this city it also provides huge job opportunities in IT sector which attracts many young graduates across the country to this land.

On an average about 75 to 80 % of employees being non Bangaloreans migrate from other states of the nation and about 60 to 70 % of the migrant employees either stay in PGs / Single rooms or Flats. Most of the employees being bachelors prefer outside food from PG, mess, canteen, street food stalls, restaurants and company food outlets. Though you get to taste varieties of food in such places but the food safety and hygiene is always a big question mark !!  

When it comes to food hygiene and sanity, Typhoid fever is the most dominating disease in India. Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella typhi bacteria which spreads rapidly through feco oral route (through contaminated food, water, feces). chances of mortality and deaths are also significant if not treated appropriately on time.Though children are more prone to suffer from typhoid fever the chances are equally high in all the age group, especially when you consume food / water from unreliable sources outside like canteen, mess, street food stalls and restaurants.

A lot of IT employees in Bengaluru fall sick every year due to typhoid fever and number of cases increase significantly during monsoon as the chances of food and water contamination is high during the season. Many employees suffer physically, mentally and emotionally as typhoid fever not only affects their health it also affects their productivity at work (due to sick leaves) leaving them neglected from promotions, bonus, increments and many other routine perks in IT world.  

To combat this serious health issue I Dr. Neelkanth Kote a Diabetologist in Bengaluru have taken up a mission to vaccinate IT employees against typhoid fever in at an affordable price.
