Petition updateIssue an Expert Irish Endometriosis Framework - let us have a National Inquiry

Speaking on Newstalk today about delays to healthcare

I’ll be on Newstalk’s Lunchtime Live today, Friday, October 9th, at 12.40pm, discussing delays to healthcare and my own experience of trying to access the care I need.

Following last night’s RTÉ Prime Time investigation into endometriosis, it is vital that patients’ experiences remain part of the conversation.

I have been diagnosed since 2005. In the past twelve months, I have travelled to Romania, London and Cork seeking appropriate care. I am now communicating with a clinic in Warsaw, coordinating appointment availability with flights, with plans to travel as soon as ESAIS approval is in place.

Yesterday, after contacting political offices since Monday, I received a call confirming an appointment with an Irish team. I welcome that appointment, but my question remains: will the team be equipped to treat the complexity of my condition?

The momentum ahead of the endometriosis framework’s first anniversary is welcome. But we still need a national inquiry. We need answers about the harm caused by delays and clear accountability for ensuring patients receive timely, coordinated care.

Please tune in at 12.40pm, share this petition and encourage others to sign.
