Please sign this petition in support of Islington Sports Bar & Grill's application to convert from an A3 restaurant alcohol licence (which allows the sale of alcohol only to customers consuming food on the premises) to an A4 pub/bar alcohol (which allows the sale of alcohol to customers whether they consume food or not). Economically this application is essential to the success of this Sports Bar. Holloway Road has lost numerous pubs/bars over the course of the last decade (The Lion, The Norfolk Arms,  The Marlborough, The Nag's Head, The Old King's Head, The Litten Tree, The Cock Tavern, The George, Wig & Gown, The Metro, The Bailey etc to name but a few), so it of great benefit the community to see a new Sports Bar opening up. Islington Sports Bar & Grill already sponsors Islington Boxing Club & from next season will be sponsoring a local football team, so it is putting something back into the community. The bar is very popular with Arsenal supporters on match days, however they have had to operate on temporary event notices to deal with the match day demand, the granting of an A4 alcohol licence would eliminate this requirement.
