In light of recent events with the upset of Brainerd High School's yearbook, some disturbing comments about the President of the United States were recorded without the subject's knowledge and while inappropriate, were taken highly out of context and acquired national media coverage throughout the United States, as well as attention from the Secret Service. The Brainerd Lakes Area community is torn up over the subject as well.

Joe Wagner is the staff member who oversees the yearbook operation at BHS. Knowing Mr. Wagner personally, he trusts his students to use common sense and discretion when creating and crafting the yearbook. A mistake on his part, but one he readily accepts responsibility for. However, people think he should be terminated for his negligence.

Joe Wagner has been a core member in cultivating a safe environment for kids who participate in education that is brought by our Art Department. He also manages things like the Anime Club and the yearbook in his extracurricular contributions to the school. He is an outstanding educator. Everyone makes mistakes, He should not be terminated over trusting his students to use good judgment.
