Leah Remini's Tuesday night episode of "Scientology and the Aftermath" on A&E featured double Oscar winning director and writer Paul Haggis. Paul won Best Picture Oscars for screenwriting and producing his critically acclaimed films "Crash" and "Million Dollar Baby."
Paul very publicly left the Church of Scientology and was attacked by Scientology for doing so. The Scientology Cult wrote terribly false and slanderous hate websites on Paul -- and of course this was funded with tax exempt dollars. It is an outrage.
Leah's show also featured Karen Schless Pressley who was the former Commanding Officer of Scientology's Celebrity Centre International here in Hollywood. Karen was at that time married to composer Peter Schless who wrote the music for Jeffrey Osborne's mega 1980's hit song "On the Wings of Love."
I just did a podcast with Karen that I share with you today. In this interview Karen discusses how she and her then husband Peter Schless became Scientologists and later joined the Sea Org.
Karen fascinatingly discusses the lure of Scientology for celebrities in terms of co-dependency. In my view, this is a remarkably insightful description.
Karen's new just-released book "Escaping Scientology: An Insider's True Story: My Journey With the Cult of Celebrity Spirituality, Greed and Power " is available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Escaping-Scientology-Insiders-Celebrity-Spirituality-ebook/dp/B075MB8WKC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1505860443&sr=8-1&keywords=escaping+scientology+karen
Please keep sharing the petition. Signatures matter and we are heading towards 10,000 signatures.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to demand that the IRS open an investigation into the Church of Scientology's ill-gotten 1993 tax exemption.
