Electronic tolling services company, Easytrip, has been thanked for acting to disassociate from greyhound racing.
Responding to correspondence from ICABS last month in relation to a company banner on display at Curraheen Park greyhound track, it said it would act to have it taken down.
The Dublin-based company explained that the banner was connected to “an historical sponsorship in 2015 and was a once off”.
“I have already taken measures to have this removed,” a spokesperson stated.
Thank you to Easytrip for this positive response. It is the latest in a growing list of companies to disassociate from greyhound racing.
These include Eir Sport, Tesco Ireland, Electric Ireland, Toyota Ireland, Applegreen, Barry's Tea, FBD Insurance, Botanica International, Hyde Irish Whiskey, Thomas Cook/Jet Tours, Galway Crystal, etc.

Curraheen Park in Cork is one of the worst tracks in the country for injuries and deaths. At least 120 greyhounds suffered injuries there and 44 were killed by a track vet over the past five years alone, sickening Irish Greyhound Board statistics show. Among the victims at Curraheen Park was a dog who died of a “suspected heart attack”. At tracks around Ireland in the same period, 1,813 greyhounds suffered injuries and 592 were killed. This is in addition to the thousands killed away from tracks every year because they are too slow to win races.
