The Irish Greyhound Board (Bord na gCon) has received nearly a quarter of a billion euros - €213.3 million - of taxpayers' money since 2001. That's according to a Greyhound Racing report published earlier this year by the Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine. https://www.scribd.com/document/324242798/Greyhound-Racing-Report-Joint-Committee-on-Agriculture-Food-and-the-Marine Among the cash handed over by the Irish Government was €10.4 million in 2014, €13.6 million in 2015 and €14.8 million in 2016. It's time for this to stop. The greyhound industry is a failing, dying industry with plummeting attendance, declining sponsorship and shocking animal cruelty, including the "disappearance" of thousands of greyhounds every year. __________________ ACTION ALERT __________________ Given the ongoing fall in attendances at tracks, it is clear that the general public has little interest in greyhound racing. Tell the Irish Government to stop wasting precious funds on this dying industry.
