Every day, in every town and county in Ireland, people with disabilities encounter barriers which limit their ability to participate equally in their communities. Not all of these barriers are visible, but some are.

If we can raise awareness of the need to remove physical barriers to participation, we are demonstrating our commitment to creating a more equal society for people with disabilities. By making small changes we can make a big difference to the lives of our fellow citizens. 
A national Make Way Day will raise awareness of the need to consider how our everyday actions impact the lives of people with disabilities. It will send a strong message that we don't want our villages, towns and cities to be obstacles courses for family, friends and neighbours with disabilities, we want them to be warm, welcoming and inclusive.
Because every day should be a Make Way Day.
