Hi everyone!
Thanks to all who have signed our petition calling on global satellite company Iridium to flick the OFF switch on their satellite services to the three notorious Spanish floating satellite buoy companies engaged in what can only be described as some pretty shocking asymmetrical warfare on our marine ecosystems.
Those three companies, who all have contracts with Iridium, are blatantly engaged in overfishing by giving the game away on the exact GPS location of large schools of tuna in the Indian Ocean so they don't stand a chance. And that goes for sharks, turtles and cetaceans too!
Extinction is on the horizon for some of these species if nothing is done, if Iridium doesn't act as a responsible space company.
So earlier this week we received this super concise message on LinkedIn from a staff member of Iridium who shall remain anonymous at this time:
"Hi Alex, I am happy to refer you to our Head of PR who can assist you with this. He will reach out to you. Thanks"
But that's it. We've heard nothing since.
Anyway, we'll keep hammering away, keep signing and sharing guys, and if we get more news we'll post it here!
With lots of love, sharks, turtles, whales and tuna,
Alex
