My dear signatories/ supporters friends,
You will be happy to learn that the petition has now 11,200 signatures, thanks to all those who signed, shared, and many of you paid change.org for wider coverage of the petition. Since my last update to you all, the signature count of 10,584 is now 11,200.
I have reports from Udvada that the very loud call to prayers with 4 loudspeakers from the nearby mosque has been stopped, ie the loudspeakers are shut down.
However, we are getting absolutely no response from the Vada Dasturjis of Udvada and members of the 9 Families Shahenshai Athornan. Without meaning to sound grandiose, the collective voice of 11200 appears to mean nothing to them.
In this regard I came across an interview that appeared in the FEZANA ( Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America) magazine of interview of Vada Dasturji Khurshed in Feb.2011, by m/s Teenaz Javat, where Dasturji very categorically states:
"My pet project is to declare Udvada a heritage village – the reason being to stop the construction of high nse buildings that have been spnnging over the village and to preserve the heritage grade status of the Parsi homes and mansions at Udvada."
Now our petition supports the very same goal, so it is very perplexing that inspite of 3 emails, on their official email address, forwarding the petition, the Udvada Vada Dasturjis and the aforementioned Anjuman have chosen to ignore our petition. Dasturji Khurshed is also Chairman of the Udvada Development Foundation, FDA. However, anyone going around the town will find at least 2, 9+ storeys buildings, several 5+ storeys, 3+ storeys, new bungalows, and row houses spread northwest, south east and south west in Udvada. There are also reports that 2 vintage houses in close proximity of Atashbehram are put up for sale.We hope these are sold to Parsis only.
I also have reports from Udvada that the persons - recipients of our Petition have reportedly said they do not need outside help. This response is perplexing when inspite of my explaining, in one email to them, that the petition, with 10000 + ( now 11200) signatories is a strong supportive document which can be produced to relevant authorities when it's needed.
Please contact the Vada Dasturjis and 9 Family Shahenshahi Athornan on their email ataremtrust@gmail.com and make enquiries about status of petition in their view.
Sincerely,
2011 interview with Vada,Dasturji Khurshed link:
