About this petition for Iranshah and Udvada, there is some concern that petitions are a nuisance, and doubts about how a petition can be effective. 

Change.org had released some statistics that show, that in the US alone, in one year, 791,896 petitions were started which got 483 million signatures..  statistics for one year! A snapshot of these statistics from the website of Change.org included above.

The Cambridge dictionary defines 'petitions' as REQUESTS for a particular cause placed before the government or an authority or Association.

Further, a legal advice website clarifies that petitions with a stipulated time limit imposed for the fulfillment of the cause then becomes a Demand.

Our petition sets no time limits.
